Declaring The Minor:
- For CAS students: Declaration of Minor Form
- For Non-CAS students:
- Apply for a minor in Albert using the link in the My Academics section of the Student Center.
- When you submit an application, it will be reviewed by both your home school and the minor school (for cross-school minors). If it is approved, the minor will appear on your transcript.
- Please follow-up with your home school if the minor is not posted after two weeks of submitting your declaration request.
The Sociology Minor consists of the following four 4-point courses (16 points):
SOC-UA 001 Introduction to Sociology *Required
SOC-UA XXX Sociology Elective
SOC-UA XXX Sociology Elective
SOC-UA XXX Sociology Elective
- It is required of all Sociology Minor students to take SOC-UA 001: Introduction to Sociology.
- Students must earn grades of C or better in their minor courses.
- Of the four courses required for the minor, transfer students must take at least three (12 points) in the College of Arts and Science.
Students can petition for one course to count towards the minor. A completed course substitution form, along with the syllabus of the course being petitioned for credit, must be submitted to the Sociology Interim Director of Undergraduate Studies for review. Once a decision is rendered, you will be notified by the Sociology Department via email. No course is guaranteed.
