This course will serve as a career exploration lab where students reflect critically on their post-graduation goals and how they could apply their degree to careers in the nonprofit, government, corporate and creative sectors. Students will hear from guest speakers who are leaders in various industries and learn how these leaders leveraged their degrees throughout their careers. Guest speakers will also discuss field expectations and how to best prepare prior to graduation. Weekly sessions will help students connect critical and ethnic studies theory to field and community practice; explore ways to apply theory gained through coursework to organizations and careers, and develop analytical and reflection tools. This course complements and enhances the course work of the 7 SCA majors/minors, is not linked to an internship, and counts as HALF an elective for all 7 SCA majors/minors offered.
