Students pursuing degrees focused on Israel Studies are typically housed in the Skirball Department of Hebrew and Judaic Studies. Several courses in Israel Studies are offered each year, including a rotation of subjects taught by distinguished Visiting Professors. Many courses involve the reading of Hebrew texts, and some are conducted in Hebrew. Students structure individual programs according to their areas of interest, and Prof. Lihi Ben-Shitrit serves as the advisor for the graduate focus in Israel Studies.
The Skirball Department of Hebrew and Judaic Studies is accepting Fall 2024 applications for the PhD in Hebrew and Judaic Studies and all MA programs.
