Our Practitioners-in-Residence program allows students to work directly with an artist, practitioner, institution, center, or organization working on contemporary issues relating to the Middle East. This opportunity gives students hands-on experience with practitioners working in fields such as foreign policy, NGOs, law, human rights activism, journalism, and art, among others. Recent practitioners-in-residence have included the Middle East Research and Information Project (MERIP), the Arab Image Foundation (AIF), curator and architectural historian Mohamed Elshahed, and journalist and editor Suzy Hansen.
