We invite interested Kevorkian Center students to apply for our Kevorkian MA Thesis Reading Groups during their second semester - for a course in their third semester. The Reading Groups will empower our students to develop thesis topics, think through and thoughtfully question new directions of concepts that current courses might not cover in detail. The Reading Groups will enable students to develop a syllabus and work throughout the entire semester together with the DGS to invite 3-5 outside scholars (to private group sessions) and 2-4 with NYU faculty. The selected group will be given a budget of $1000 - $1500 to pay for honoraria for scholars to attend the Reading Groups from our Title VI Department of Education Grant.
Please note that the deadline for intial consideration is June 15th. We hope to be able to accomdate 2 reading groups each academic year. The other details about deadlines can be found below
Reading Groups Details:
Each group has to be a minimum of 3 students
Each group cannot exceed 6 students
Each group must commit to meeting at least once a week as a group
Each group must also attend the Fall 2nd year MA Thesis Workshops offered across the semester at the Kevorkian Center to help develop their thesis proposals
