Digital Forays in Middle Eastern Studies // A year-long series 2020-2021:
This year-long series starts from a simple premise: What does it look like to think, engage, and do research in this digital age? This is not a call for researchers to simply produce digital outputs - but we live in an ever-increasingly digital world. In order to better activate our scholarship, and to grasp the terrain in which our research questions unfold, we must reimagine our methods, modes of collaboration, and how to participate in a quickly changing digital landscape. DIGITAL FORAYS: LIGHTNING TALKS FROM JUNIOR SCHOLARS
April 29, 2021 / 12:30-2:30PM (NYC/EST Time) / Zoom signup
Through an open call we invited PhD/MA Candidates, junior faculty, and independent scholars to apply to present iterations of their developing digital projects. We were interested to find projects that are pushing the norms, boundaries, and forms of Middle Eastern Scholarship through adopting new tools, methods, and modes of dissemination. Through these 7 LIGHTNING TALKS we hope to connect, model possible directions, and foster a conversation for those who are feeling frustrated, lost, and limited in academic/disciplinary silos!
We are incredibly excited to announce the 7 junior scholars that will be joining us on April 29, 2021 to discuss their research and digital productions.
