A literature that annihilates itself, is no longer literature, conditioned by the impossible or, on the contrary, by an extreme sense of possibility, of performativity; a voice from nowhere, cast out of time or, rather, of an absolute present, where the action of writing no longer exists. The work of Denis Hollier and of his favored authors, Sartre, Bataille, Leiris, among so many others, is never completely removed from this idea of a literature on the brink, pushing at its limits. In honor of Denis Hollier the writer, editor, educator and advisor, students, colleagues and friends come together to discuss his influence, and this self-effacing literature.
