Philosophy, in the 21st century, has changed: its practices and languages are no longer those of the previous century. A turning point has been taken by new generations and thinkers from diverse origins who, more than commenting on the old masters, are taking philosophy into new fields: health, ecology, neurosciences, security warfare, non-Western thought, trans-identities, the rights of non-human living beings... Shifting the frameworks of the history of philosophy, these thinkers are also finding new audiences, through the media, in hospitals, in the theater, or through literary creation. The 20/20 Philosophers meetings give voice to this renewal of French speaking philosophical practices in the 21st century.

About Jean Godefroy Bidima
Ancien Maître de conférences-invité à l’Université de Bayreuth en Allemagne et ancien Directeur de programme au Collège International de Philosophie de Paris, Jean Godefroy BIDIMA est depuis 2004, Professeur titulaire, et détenteur de la Chaire Yvonne Arnoult en Études françaises et francophones à l’Université Tulane (New Orleans-USA). Ses recherches portent sur les questions d’éthique médicale du point de vue interculturel, les philosophies africaines et l’esthétique. Auteur des livres suivants : Théorie Critique et Modernité négro-africaine : De l'École de Francfort à la "Docta spes africana" (Publications de la Sorbonne,1993), La philosophie négro-africaine (PUF, QSJ ?,1995), L'art négro-africain (PUF,QSJ ?,1997), La palabre: Une juridiction de la parole (Éditions Michalon,1997. Il a co-edité avec Lavou Victorien : Réalités et représentations de la violence dans les postcolonies (Presses de l’Université de Perpignan, 2015).
