A graduate of Radcliffe College and Manhattan School of Music, JAYN ROSENFELD studied with James Pappoutsakis, William Kincaid and Marcel Moyse. She was first flute in the American Symphony Orchestra under Leopold Stokowski. Her recordings include concerti by Domenico Cimarosa, Dinos Constantinides, Rand Steiger and Leo Kraft, solo works by Ruth Crawford Seeger, Leon Kirchner, John Anthony Lennon, Robert Erickson and David Froom, more than seventy works of contemporary chamber music, and a recording of the flute chamber music of Albert Roussel (Centaur Records). Jayn was flutist and executive director of the NY New Music Ensemble for many years and first flute of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra until 2014. She plays with the League of Composers Orchestra, the Richardson Players at Princeton, where she also teaches flute and chamber music, and the Washington Square Contemporary Music Society.
BERNARD ROSE, a graduate of Columbia College and the Juilliard School, has performed as soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician across the country and Europe. He recently performed a Mozart Piano E Flat Concerto and Dvorak Trios in Sarajevo, Bosnia. He is a current member of the North Country Chamber Players and toured the U.S. with Young Concert Artists. Rose's other chamber music affiliations include the Claring Players, West End Chamber Ensemble, the Audubon Quartet, the Daniel Quartet, and the Cremona Arts Trio. He has collaborated with numerous artists including violists Walter Trampler and Noboko Imai, flutist Carol Wincenc, and violinist Eugene Fodor. A dedicated teacher, he taught at Sarah Lawrence College and at CUNY Staten Island. Many of his former students are active performers and teachers.
Winner of two Walter W. Naumburg Awards – for chamber music and solo singing – soprano LUCY SHELTON is one of today’s foremost interpreters of contemporary music. Ms. Shelton has premiered over 100 works, by Elliott Carter, Oliver Knussen, Joseph Schwantner, Stephen Albert, Poul Ruders, Charles Wuorinen, Milton Babbitt, Shulamit Ran and Robert Zuidaim, et al, many written for her. Her recordings showcase the works of Adolphe, Albert, Benson, Carter, Crawford Seeger, Del Tredici, Goehr, Karchin, Kim, Knussen, Messiaen, Rands, Schoenberg, Schwantner, Stravinsky, Wuorinen and Ung. In 2007 she became the voice faculty for Manhattan School of Music’s Contemporary Performance Program and in 1996 joined the faculty of the Tanglewood Music Center. Ms. Shelton's primary mentor and inspiration was the legendary American mezzo-soprano Jan de Gaetani.
