Ireland and Palestine were among the thorniest geopolitical issues a century ago. In her lecture, "The Irish, the Jews, and Wilson's 'Self-Determination'", Dr. Marion R. Casey explores Irish and Jewish activism inspired by contemporary rhetoric about the rights of small nations and compares U.S. President Woodrow Wilson's responses to both groups. This event concludes Glucksman Ireland House's 25th anniversary programming which was curated around the theme of Jewish-Irish relations as a tribute to our co-founders Loretta Brennan Glucksman and the late Lewis L. Glucksman.
Dr. Marion R. Casey teaches at New York University where she is Clinical Associate Professor of Irish Studies, Glucksman Ireland House, and Affiliated Faculty, Department of History.
