The Latin America News Dispatch (LAND) is a student-run publication that produces original news stories about Latin America, the Caribbean, U.S. foreign policy and Latinos in the United States. LAND is based at New York University’s Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies.
Latin Dispatch was founded in 2009 by Roque Planas, Andrew O’Reilly, Mari Hayman and Rachel Brooks-Ames Lachenmeier, who were graduate students in the Global Joint Master’s program in Journalism and Latin American Studies at New York University.
