About the speakers:
Mario Montalbetti, is a Peruvian syntactician and a professor of linguistics within the Department of Linguistics at the University of Arizona, as well as a poet.
Odi Gonzáles, is a native Quechua speaker, researcher, translator, and poet. He has published several scholarly books in the field of Latin American Literature, and many multilingual collections of poetry. He has led the Quechua language program at New York University's Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies since 2008
Rossella Di Paolo, studied literature at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. Her most recent verse collection, La silla en el mar, won the “Luces” Prize awarded by the Peruvian newspaper El Comercio for 2016 Best Book of Poetry. Her poetry has appeared in a variety of anthologies of Peruvian and Latin American poetry. In 2020 she won the Premio Casa de la Literatura Peruana prize and was distinguished as a Personalidad Meritoria de la Cultura by the Peruvian Ministry of Culture.
Mariela Dreyfus(Moderator), is a Peruvian poet, essayist, and translator who currently lives in New York City. She holds a PhD in Latin American Literature from Columbia University and currently teaches at New York University as a Clinical Professor of Spanish and Portuguese.
