This festival will commemorate the 100th anniversary of Juan Rulfo's birthday. Juan Rulfo is known as one of Latin America's finest novelists, short story masters and photographers. This event will correspond the New York premiere of the documentary "100 Years with Juan Rulfo: A Wanderer." The film follows Juan Rulfo's son, Juan Carlos Rulfo, as he travels to five sites in Mexico where his father took photographs.
There will also be a book presentation of "El Llano en Llamas, Pedro Páramo y Otras Obra (en el Centernario de Su Autor)" by Professor Perdro Ángel Palou. The book is co written with Professor FranciscoRamírex Santacruz and presitgious scholars from universities in Germany, Belgium, Spain, US, France, England, Mexico and Switzerland. The articles focus on some lesser-known short stories ("El hombre" and "Paso del Norte"), pose a novel discussions about on the his most taled about pieces ("Lluvina"), vindicate Rulfo as well versed in the Bible, reflect on "El Gallo de Oro", transcribe a series of interviews with filmmakers who were inspired by Rulfo, and promote a comparative analysis between Rulfo and Nellie Campobello, Julia Llamazares y José Agustín
