The Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies automatically considers all applicants to the M.A. program for some funding opportunities upon review of your application. These include the MacCracken Fellowship as well as GSAS Departmental tuition points. If you are chosen for these funding opportunities, we will notify you upon admission to the program.

Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships
Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) fellowships support graduate students who will study Haitian Creole or Quechua or less-commonly taught languages of Latin America and the Caribbean. Fellowships are funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or have permanent resident status.
GSAS/CAS Tuition Program
College of Arts and Science students who are admitted to select Graduate School of Arts and Science (GSAS) master's programs* may be eligible for a 25% tuition discount for courses required for the degree program.
GSAS/CAS BA/MA Track
While still undergraduates, students on this track get a head start on graduate coursework. This allows them to finish a Master’s degree at CLACS within one additional year of study at GSAS after earning the Bachelor’s degree. During their graduate school year, Bachelor's-Master's students are eligible for a tuition scholarship covering 50% of their Master's tuition and fees.
GSAS Tuition Assistance Program for School Teachers
The Graduate School of Arts and Science (GSAS) is pleased to announce a financial aid program to assist elementary and secondary school teachers within the tri-state area with their GSAS tuition. Under this program, the Graduate School will offer a financial aid award of 50 percent of tuition (not including fees) to qualified full-time classroom teachers enrolled in GSAS.
GSAS Resources for Military Veterans and Members
GSAS is pleased to participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program. This program is available to veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces who are 100% eligible for the new Post 9/11 GI Bill. GSAS will contribute up to $10,000 per year to GSAS master’s students. The Veterans Administration will match these funds for a total of $20,000 per year.
