Interested in taking part in an experiment at the MEG lab? MEG is a noninvasive technology that measures magnetic activity in your brain while you lie down with five small markers attached to your head and look at, listen to, and respond to words or pictures.
If you would like to volunteer to be a subject, please contact one of our many research groups.
How Long Will the Experiment Take?
Most experiments take 1 to 2 hours. Some may be shorter and some may require multiple sessions. This all depends on the labs running the experiments and what their studies require. Make sure to check with each lab when inquiring about studies.
- No jewelry, makeup, or clothing containing metal
- No braces or permanent retainers
- No history of linguistic or cognitive impairment
- No history of brain disorders such as epilepsy
This is different for each lab, but typically compensation is between $15-$25/hour. There are also many studies that will compensate with credit for Psychology classes.
