Dr. Aalai is a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor in Psychology at Queensborough Community College, CUNY. Her research interests include work on media depictions during times of war, bystander behavior during the Holocaust, and pedagogical techniques for teaching the Holocaust in higher education. She frequently does collaborative work with the Kupferberg Holocaust Resource Center at QCC, including being the designated Scholar-in-Residence during the 2017-2018 academic year as an NEH-grant recipient. In addition to scholarly publications, she is a regular contributor for Psychology Today, and has had publications in mainstream sources such as The New York Times and Huffington Post. She is also regularly featured on radio and television.
Dr. Aalai teaches both Psychology of Social Media and Psychology of Social Behavior for the M.A. program in Psychology at NYU as an adjunct. She also regularly serves as advisor and reader for students working on their thesis.
