Anna Marie Valerio, President of Executive Leadership Strategies, is a consultant and executive coach with expertise in women’s leadership and inclusion. She has authored two books published by Wiley, Developing Women Leaders: A Guide for Men and Women in Organizations and Executive Coaching: A Guide for the HR Professional. Dr. Valerio is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Graduate Program in I/O Psychology at New York University. In her experience as an executive coach, Dr. Valerio has enabled the leadership development of numerous men and women at senior executive levels across many industry sectors in Fortune 500 organizations.
Dr. Valerio has held leadership roles in IBM, Verizon, and Sony Electronics, Inc. directing teams of professionals and managers in talent management functions such as leadership development, leadership competencies, corporate-wide employee surveys, 360- feedback surveys, performance management, selection, organization development, coaching, and executive education.
Dr. Valerio holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from The City University of New York and is a licensed psychologist. She is a member of SIOP, The Society of Consulting Psychology (SCP), and the New York Metropolitan Association for Applied Psychology (NY METRO). Anna Marie has published and presented extensively on inclusion and women’s leadership. Her research on inclusion with men and women leaders in Fortune 500 companies has resulted in the publication of book chapters and many articles written for business leaders in Harvard Business Review (hbr.org), HR People + Strategy Journal, Forbes.com, and Business Horizons. Her article on the topic of hidden biases in the identification of high-potential women, Wherefore Art Thou All Our Women High- Potentials? won the HRP+S Walker Award for Best Article of 2018.
