The Department of Psychology and Center for Neural Science in the Faculty of Arts and Science at New York University invite applications for a joint, tenure-track position at the assistant professor level to study the neural basis of cognition. The appointment is expected to begin September 1, 2024, pending budgetary and administrative approval. We seek applicants with an outstanding record of research in systems neuroscience, broadly construed, which explore either human or non-human models. Examples of research areas include, but are not limited to, attention, perception, decision making, memory, executive function, or communication. Similarly, a broad range of experimental approaches will be considered, including psychophysics, fMRI, MEG, TMS, ECoG, chronic recordings or imaging from awake-behaving animals, and optogenetics. A background in computational approaches is favored.

Pay Transparency
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000. Assistant Professor in Neural Basis of Cognition (Tenure Track)
The Center for Social Media and Politics at NYU invites applications for a tenure-track position in Social Media and Computational Social Science.
This is an interdisciplinary search, open to scholars across disciplines. The faculty member hired will join the appropriate academic department within the school of Arts and Science at NYU.
Methodologically, applicants should demonstrate a mastery of quantitative and/or computational methods in the social sciences. Substantively, applicants should have research interests that align with and/or complement the areas of interest at the NYU Center for Social Media and Politics (CSMaP).

The Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Arts and Science at New York University invites applications for three tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant professor level:
Higher-level Cognition (http://apply.interfolio.com/128188): We seek candidates in any area of human cognition, including scholars focusing on topics such as thinking, reasoning, language, analogy, knowledge representation, creativity, categorization, perception of and reasoning about causality, planning, or decision making. We will place special emphasis on research that uses innovative methodologies to explore the nature of human mental representations. Ideal applicants will interface with existing strengths in cognition, perception, cognitive neuroscience, developmental psychology, and/or artificial intelligence initiatives at NYU.
Social Psychology (http://apply.interfolio.com/128189): We seek candidates in an area of Social Psychology and will prioritize candidates who bring novel methodological approaches.
Social Cognitive Science (http://apply.interfolio.com/128191): We seek candidates focusing on social cognitive science, including scholars who take a cognitive science perspective to study topics such as social and affective processes, social neuroscience, theory of mind, social evaluation, cooperation, communication, representations of social relationships and groups, group decision making, stereotypes, moral cognition, or cognitive biases. We will prioritize research taking novel computational or other methodological approaches to these questions that will bridge between the Cognition and Perception and Social Psychology areas within the Psychology department. Candidates for this position will be considered for joint appointments across the departments’ doctoral programs in Cognition and Perception and Social Psychology.
