Graduate students have been assigned to one of three categories: Group A, Group B, and Group R. Please refer to Evette's email for the group assignments.
Group R students have either informed the department or the University of their intent to study in full remote mode, and thus, have not been assigned an office for the semester. If this information is not accurate (you are remote but not listed as such, or you are in-person but listed as remote), please contact Gary Mandarano immediately.
The classroom cohort system only applies to courses with a Blended Mode of instruction. It does not apply to In-Person or Full-Remote courses. Group A can attend classes in-person during Weeks 1, 3, 5, etc (see calendar, weeks highlighted in GREEN). Group B can attend classes in-person during Weeks 2, 4, 6, etc (see calendar, weeks highlighted in BLUE).
The cohort system also applies to building access for certain groups of graduate students:
Incoming first-year students, EPP, CCPP, and Math Phys students (working with Jun Zhang), will have access to their offices during their in-person weeks. If you have been asked to clear out your office space or to relocate to another space, please do so as soon as possible. Any questions regarding your office assignments, please ask Gary.
CSMR and CQP students generally have access to office space associated with their labs. The building-access schedule does not apply to students in these groups. Instead, please discuss with the CSMR and CQP directors or admins to confirm your seating arrangements.
Graduate student instructors who have to teach during their off-weeks will have access to a common space (room TBD), where they can use a computer and do work.
Please contact Gary or Evette if you have any questions.
