Who is my English Major Advisor?
As an English major, you have multiple people you can go to for advising: The Director of Undergraduate Studies, Prof. Greg Vargo; the Undergraduate Program Administrator, Mary Mezzano; and The Director of the Creative Writing Track, Jess Row.
What if I already have a CAS Advisor?
Your English advisor is different from your CAS Advisor. Your CAS Advisor will be your advisor for all general degree and university questions. Your English advisor will be there for all major related questions. It is best to stay in contact with both CAS Advising and your English Advisors regularly to make sure you are on track with all your various requirements!

Why do I need an English advisor?
1) To make sure you are on track with your major progress. Your English advisors specialize in helping you complete your major. We have answers/insights your CAS advisor might not have, specifically about your major.
2) To be there for you if you have any major/English dept. related questions or concerns.
3) To discuss your academic interests/pursuits/career goals/life. Need advice about going to grad school? Or about jobs after school? Or which professors specialize in Queer Theory? We can have a conversation with you and help answer questions you might have or direct you to an expert!
