Established in 2006, Ottoman and Turkish Studies at NYU (OTS-NYU) takes an integrative and interdisciplinary approach to the study of the Ottoman Empire and modern Turkey, broadly construed. Through lectures, panels, workshops, and roundtables, this initiative aims to establish a central hub for Ottoman and Turkish studies across the university, as well as a platform to introduce newer and established scholars. OTS-NYU is directed by Ayşe Baltacıoğlu-Brammer, Assistant Professor in the Departments of History and Middle Eastern & Islamic Studies. Unless noted otherwise, all events are hosted at the Hagop Kevorkian Center for Near Eastern Studies 255 Sullivan St (at Washington Square South).
