Vicki Caron is the Diann G. and Thomas A. Mann Professor of History and Modern Jewish Studies at Cornell University. She has published a number of books and articles, including Between France and Germany: The Jews of Alsace-Lorraine, 1871 –1918 and Uneasy Asylum: France and the Jewish Refugee Crisis, 1933 –1942. She has also coedited, with Michael Brenner and Uri R. Kaufmann, Jewish Emancipation Reconsidered: The French and German Models. She is currently working on a book titled The Battle for the Republic: Jewish-Catholic Relations in France, 1870 –1914 (forthcoming, Harvard Univ. Press, 2017), which is envisioned as the first of a two-volume work on Jewish-Catholic Relations in France since 1870.
