On July 28, Mary Robinson successfully defended her dissertation, "Negative concord as a window into social perception of morphological and syntactic variables." Her committee consisted of Laurel MacKenzie (co-chair), Gary Thoms (co-chair), Ailís Cournane, Alec Marantz, and Bill Haddican (CUNY Queens College). Starting in September, Mary will be starting a 3-year position at Newcastle University as Research Associate in Language Variation and Change.
