Dr. Cóilín Ó Floinn will deliver a lecture entititled, "Adult Learners and their Role in Minority Language Revitalization / Foghlaimeoirí Fásta agus a Ról in Athneartú Mionteangacha."
This annual lecture was established in 2006 in honor of Barra Ó Donnabháin, a beloved and influential teacher and advocate of the language, who was originally from Leap, Co. Cork. He emigrated in 1963 after graduating with a degree in Irish and Latin from UCC. He was for many years a columnist with the Irish Echo. Past speakers include Ambassador Dan Mulhall, Louis De Paor, Breandán Mac Suibhne, Máire Ní hAnnracháin, Alan Titley, and Nuala Ní Domhnaill, among others.
