Stephanie Randall is from Morgantown, West Virginia, and graduated from the MA International Relations Program in 2018.
Where do you currently work and what do you do there?
I work at FTI Consulting where I am a Director within the People & Transformation practice of the Strategic Communications segment. In my day-to-day work, I get to be a part of our clients’ most transformative moments – whether that is launching a new strategy, undergoing a financial restructuring or merging with another company. My team focuses on communications and change management across a variety of industries and client situations.
How did the IR Program prepare you for what you're doing now?
The MA in IR Program sat at the intersection of my three core interests: Business, international affairs and communications. My experience at NYU helped me refine my academic and professional interests, providing me with a solid foundation to continue my career journey.
What advice do you have for current students who may be looking for a career in your field?
Do your research and embrace opportunities. The Strategic Communications field is vast, bringing together individuals from a diverse array of academic and professional backgrounds and interests. Don't hesitate to reach out to me if you would like to discuss the field further.
Which class did you most enjoy? And the one in which you learned the most?
While I enjoyed all of my classes, Professor Ammendola's business-focused courses stick out in my mind. They provided an excellent finance and business foundation.
What is your favorite place on campus? What do you like best about student life at NYU?
I always loved (and continue to love) strolling through Washington Square Park.
