Tony Haouam : Dissertation chapter
(« Salut les Blancs ». Affect, publics, et blanchité sur la scène du rire française. 2000-2019)
Tony Haouam is a 5th-year doctoral student in French Studies and French at NYU. His dissertation, “Laughing at Color Blindness: Race in the French Comedy Scene,” examines comedians’ aesthetic work in order to get at the subtlety of the corporeal, sound, performative, and rhetorical modes through which race and racialization operate in ‘colorblind’ France.
