Through planned events and volunteer opportunities, ASCEND aims to strengthen working relationships, foster belonging, and provide networking opportunities for growth and development.

The Bowery Mission

Please join us on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 12:15pm - 2:30pm to volunteer at The Bowery Mission, one of New York City’s most effective organizations serving the homeless and hungry since the 1870s. God’s Love We Deliver

Please join us on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 9:00am - 12:00pm to volunteer at God’s Love We Deliver, one of New York City’s premiere organizations improving the health and well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other serious illnesses by alleviating hunger and malnutrition. Together, we’ll prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for people who are unable to provide or prepare meals for themselves due to illness. For more information, click the link below.

Every Arts & Science member has something unique to contribute. We welcome staff and administrators from all backgrounds and interests to join the ASCEND Team. Whether you’re a natural organizer, a passionate advocate for change, a savvy communicator, or simply inspired to lend a helping hand – there’s a place for you on our team.

By joining our team, you’ll have the opportunity to play an integral role in shaping the future of our community, ASCEND, while making a positive impact on the lives of your colleagues and Arts & Science. We welcome all levels of community building expertise – enthusiasm and dedication are what matter most.

Together we will:

  • Organize engaging events: Plan and host exciting events that bring our community members together over shared interests.
  • Support local causes: Work on initiatives that give back to our larger NYC community through charitable projects, environmental efforts, supporting local businesses, and more.
  • Enhance communication: Improve communication channels within the community to ensure that every voice is heard and valued.
  • Foster inclusivity: Champion diversity and inclusion, making our community an open and accepting place for colleagues from all walks of life.
