Students currently enrolled in an undergraduate French language, literature, or culture course at any level from the beginning to the advanced level are welcome to see our departmental tutors for help with their French language skills. Students can ask about any area of vocabulary, grammar, or syntax about which they have questions. Students cannot, however, ask the tutors to read over essays, oral presentation scripts, or any other written assignment of this type (whether a first draft or a corrected draft) to find errors or to check for general correctness.
Are you looking for a little extra help with your French? Our department offers twenty hours a week of free tutoring from advanced doctoral students. Our tutoring is offered in room 624 in the French Department (19 University Place).
Our tutors are Sarah Schaefer (shs9924@nyu.edu) and Jessica Smietana (jls1187@nyu.edu).
