Bio:
Tony Spanakos is Associate Professor of Political Science and Law at Montclair State University and Adjunct Professor in the MA program in International Relations at New York University. He is the co-editor of Reforming Brazil (2004), the Routledge Conceptualising Comparative Politics Series, and a forthcoming special issue on "The Legacy of Hugo Chavez" for Latin American Perspectives. His research on political economy and democratization in Latin America, Sino-Latin American relations, and political theory and comic books have been published in a number of scholarly journals and popular books including: Comparative Political Studies, Latin American Politics and Society, Latin American Perspectives, New Political Science, Latin American Research Review, among others.He is currently working on a book on political and economic change in Brazil and Venezuela.
