Todd Foley graduated from Oberlin College in 2006 with a degree in Classics and East Asian Studies. He holds an MA in Comparative Literature from Dartmouth and a PhD in East Asian Studies from NYU (2015). His teaching at NYU has centered on Chinese literature, film, drama, and critical theory, and he has also taught courses at Connecticut College and Sun Yat-sen University (Guangzhou). His current research focuses on ideas of humanity and animality in modern and contemporary Chinese literature.
