Laura Hughes is a specialist of 20th- and 21st-century French literature and thought, working at the intersections of literary theory, gender studies, and manuscript/archive studies. Her first book project, titled Archival Afterlives: Cixous and Derrida beyond Matter, examines the friendship of French writers and philosophers Hélène Cixous and Jacques Derrida through the lens of their overlapping archives.
