Kayo Nonaka is a Senior Language Lecturer and the Japanese Language Coordinator. She earned her undergraduate degree in Spanish in 1984 from Nanzan University, Japan. In 1989, she received her Master's degree in Bilingual Education from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Before coming to NYU in 2003, she taught at Brown University, the University of California at Berkeley, Connecticut College, and UMass. She has also taught many intensive summer programs including the Japanese Language School at Middlebury College, Nihongo Study in Kanazawa (now known as Princeton in Ishikawa), and the FALCON Summer Program at Cornell University.
