Johan Heilbron is a historical sociologist, trained at the University of Amsterdam and the EHESS in Paris, and currently director of research at the CNRS and member of the Centre Européen de Sociologie et de Science Politique (CESSP-CNRS-EHESS). His research concerns the development of the social sciences, economic organizations and institutions, and transnational exchange and cultural globalization. Publications include
