Dr. Boulanger is a clinical psychologist, psychoanalyst and clinical associate professor (adjunct) of psychology. She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology in 1981 from Teachers College, Columbia University, a certificate in family therapy from the Ackerman Institute in 1986, and a certificate in Psychoanalysis from New York University's Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis in 1997. Dr. Boulanger has worked in clinical settings as Externship Director at the New Hope Guild for Psychotherapy, and Clinical Director of the Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program. For twelve years she taught psychodynamic theory in the Clinical Program at Teachers College Columbia University. Currently Dr. Boulanger is President of Section V of Division 39, the Section for Applied Clinical Psychoanalysis and a member of the board of Section IX of Division 39. She is on the editorial board of the International Journal of Applied Psychoanalytic Studies, and Division/Review. She teaches, lectures, gives workshops, and publishes about adult onset trauma and about immigration. She has been in private practice on the Upper West Side since 1982 where she treats adults, adolescents, couples, and families.
