Matt Mandelkern is Assistant Professor of Philosophy. He received a Ph.D. in philosophy from the Department of Linguistics and Philosophy at MIT and a B.A. in philosophy from the University of Chicago. He works on topics in the philosophy of language and related questions in cognate fields. He is particularly interested in modals, conditionals, presupposition, and anaphora. Prior to joining NYU, Mandelkern was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at All Souls College, Oxford, and an external member of the Language and Meaning Centre at University College London.
