Nicholas Boggs is currently writing a literary biography of James Baldwin, to be published by Farrar, Straus, and Giroux. The book has been supported by research fellowships from the Leon Levy Center for Biography and the NYU Center for the Humanities as well as residential fellowships at MacDowell and the James Merrill House (all in 2020-2021). He also received a Robert and Ina Caro Travel and Research Fellowship from Biographer's International (2019). With Jennifer DeVere Brody of Stanford University he recovered, co-edited, and wrote the introduction to a new edition of Baldwin's collaboration with French painter Yoran Cazac, Little Man, Little Man: A Story of Childhood (Duke UP, 2018), which was reviewed or featured in the New York Times, the Times Literary Supplement, the New York Review of Books, Slate, People, Entertainment Weekly, Public Books, the Wall Street Journal, and elsewhere.
