Catherine Liu earned her undergraduate degree in Chinese Language and Literature from Nankai University in 2002. She completed an M.A. with a concentration in Linguistics and Chinese Pedagogy at the Beijing Language and Culture University in 2006. She has given presentations on Chinese linguistics at multiple international conferences. She currently teaches courses in Chinese language.
