Financial support is a perennial challenge for all master’s funding and we encourage students to learn of all private and public fellowship opportunities available to them.
One of the best places to start is the Graduate Fellowship Finder organized by the University of Illinois.
Students should also be aware of GSAS Overview of Financial Aid and the Tuition Incentive Program (TIP). Through this program, GSAS encourages students to apply for external assistance and provides tuition support to recipients of external awards. Students receiving external awards of $13,000 or more from recognized, academic sources of funding outside of the University can apply for matching tuition points up to the amount of their outside award. Students receiving external awards of less than $13,000 may apply for matching tuition points up to 50 percent of the amount of the external award.
Students should also be aware of GSAS Tuition Assistance Program for School Teachers to assist elementary and secondary school teachers within the tri-state area with their GSAS tuition. Under this program, the Graduate School will offer a financial aid award of 50 percent of tuition (not including fees) to qualified full-time classroom teachers enrolled in GSAS.
Below you will find information about various fellowships that have been shared with us. Please let us know at any time if you are aware of additional opportunities to build this list.
