Sponsored by NYU's Experimental Humanities and Social Engagement (XE) department and Gallatin in collaboration with the New York Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (NYCAN), the local branch of the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize recipient, the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN). Atomic Tales will bring together anti-nuclear artists, academics, journalists, policy makers, and activists to further understand the entanglements of the nuclear industry. Our speakers will attend to the nuclear crisis through collectivity to envision new pedagogies, creative interventions, and policy decisions. We encourage all interested students to join our collaborative discussion and learn from our esteemed guests and keynote speaker, Gallatin professor and interdisciplinary performer Eiko Otake. Atomic Tales will be held at the Silver Center at NYU. The event is open to the entire NYU community on a first-come first-serve basis.
