In this session, XE students will meet with recent alumni who are currently enrolled in PhD programs in a variety of disciplines to ask them: what is life like as a PhD student? What do you wish you had known when you were working on your PhD applications? They will also offer advice for maximizing one's time and experience as a master's student at NYU.
This is the second workshop of a three-part series designed to assist XE students who are contemplating doctoral study. The first workshop breaks down the application process, the second features XE alums describing their experiences as PhD students, and the third helps students craft their statements of purpose.
Featured alumni include:
Danielle Luckstead (Stonybrook, Sociology)
Valeria Seminario, (Hispanic Studies, University of Pennsylvania)
Maya Singhal (Harvard, Anthropology)
Matt Zundel (NYU, Italian Studies, and currently a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow at NYU's Core Curriculum Program)
All workshops will be run by Sonia Werner, Clinical Assistant Professor at XE.
Open to current XE students via zoom.
RSVP in advance is required to attend.
