Seminar:

PREREQUISITE: 3 COURSES IN SOCIOLOGY INCLUDING SOC-UA 1, 2, OR 3 OR PERMISSION OF INSTRUCTOR.

From class consciousness to the latest election polls, public opinion matters to sociologists. What is it? Is it one thing or many? How does it affect political behavior? How do we measure it? This seminar will mix key readings and original data analysis to answer these three questions and some that students themselves pose. Each student will write a term paper on an important facet of public opinion and/or social change.

See the student services administrator for content and other information.
