betts.brown@nyu.edu
Betts Brown has worked in the Department of Social & Cultural Analysis since its inception and, prior to that, in the Program in Metropolitan Studies. She advises new majors, connects them to faculty advisors, and answers questions regarding the programs. She is continually impressed by the energy, inquisitiveness, and idealism of SCA majors and is passionate about her work with them. As the director of the undergraduate internship program, she guides students committed to community engagement and develops partnerships with nonprofit and government agencies. Betts also plans curriculum for the department. When not at NYU, Betts works obsessively in a Brooklyn ceramics studio mostly on handbuilt porcelain pieces.
