Facilitator: Sarah Leonard, an accomplished public writer, published in The Nation, N+1, Dissent, and Bookforum; she is also a senior editor at The Nation, a contributing editor to Dissent and to the New Inquiry, the editor-in-chief to Lux magazine, and a contributing editor to AJ+.
Description: A two-part workshop in which fellows will learn how to pitch writing to non-academic and public venues. This first part of the workshop will be led by Sarah Leonard, and cover the basics of pitching (finding a venue, finding an editor, crafting a pitch). In the second part of the workshop (tentatively scheduled for January), fellows will bring in a draft of a pitch to workshop and edit.
