David Kanbergs is a PhD candidate working in modern and contemporary Arabic literature. His current research project focuses on Egyptian speculative fiction and addresses matters of time, space and revolution.
David is an active translator of Arabic fiction and nonfiction works, and his translations have been published by ArabLit Quarterly, Yemen Policy Center and Kotob Khan Books.
He is also the founder and lead organizer of the Arabic Lecture Series at NYU (2018-2021), which hosted lectures by luminaries in the fields of politics, economics, activism, academia and the arts.
