Lisa Davidson has received a $328,617 grant from the National Science Foundation for collaborative research with ʻŌiwi Parker Jones (University of Oxford) to study the phonetics of ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian) as spoken by the growing community of modern ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi speakers, college-aged and adult language learners, and elders who spoke pre-revitalization ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi interviewed in the 1970s-80s on the radio program Ka Leo Hawai'i.
