Soraya Ann Garcia

I am a senior majoring in global business with a concentration on luxury markets. Minoring in Italian!

As a part of liberal studies, I was given the opportunity to spend my freshman year in Florence. This is what truly opened my eyes to everything Italian and, I have to admit, I've fallen completely in love. I am hoping to work in an Italian fashion house in the future, bringing in new techniques on how to sell yourself and a product. COVID cut my time in New York City short, but I am also hoping to spend a lot more time at Casa Italiana when I get back! It's a small and friendly community. I am a competitive ballroom dancer and I like really anything that has to do with music, fashion, culture, etc! I speak Spanish and my Italian sta migliorando.

Sophia Moore-Smith

 I am a junior in Liberal Studies and am planning on double majoring in Journalism and Romance languages, focusing on Italian and Portuguese.  I spent my first year abroad at NYU Florence, which I think of as my second home now!  I love learning languages and traveling.  I hope I can return to Italy soon and put my studies to good use!

 

Emily Prezioso

I am a communications major, hoping to be a marketer/advertiser for XR companies, but I do also have an interest in working abroad. I began taking Italian in my sophomore year because I wanted to connect more deeply to my origins. It is important for me to have that connection and Italian Studies is relevant to me on a very personal level - it is something I hope to use throughout my life, much beyond college and my career.
