Stefano holds a BA in Italian Literature and in Philosophy at the Université de Fribourg (Switzerland); and a MA in Italian Literature from the same University.
He wrote his Masters Dissertation on Ugo Foscolo's introduction to his commentary on Dante's Divine Comedy, which goes by the title 'STUDIO ANALITICO DEL DISCORSO SUL TESTO DELLA COMMEDIA: STRUTTURA ARGOMENTATIVA, IPOTESI SUPERATE E RISULTATI CRITICI AMMISSIBILI', obtaining Summa Cum Laude both for his Dissertation and his MA (the dissertation can be found online here: (Stefano Scandella | New York University - Academia.edu)
In his time at NYU he would like to continue to study new ways for approaching the 'Classics' in Italian Literature, especially Dante's Works, and to study how Medieval Literature and Modern Literature can still be relevant today and how their texts could be spread to a larger public without losing their central meanings and stylistic features.
A small 'plaquette' of his poems has recently been published by a Swiss editor (alla chiara fonte - Fluire 11 (poesiaallachiarafonte.ch).
Stefano is currently working for the Université de Fribourg on a soundtrack for Dante's Inferno film (1911) which will be screened December 2022 in Switzerland.
