Holocaust by Bullets: Uncovering the
Reality of Genocide
Patrick DESBOIS is secretary to the French Confer-ence of Bishops for relations with Judaism, advisor to the Cardinal-Archbishop of Lyon and advisor to the Vatican on the Jewish religion. Grandson of a deportee to the Rawa Ruska camp, he has set out to investigate the mass murder of Eastern European Jews by the Nazis during the Second World War. He is the winner of the B'nai B'rith International Award for Outstanding Contribution to Relations with the Jewish People. He lives in Paris, France.
Since 2001, Father Desbois, a French priest and president of the Yahad-In-Unum Foundation, has led a historic effort to locate undiscovered mass graves of Jews and Roma killed during the Holocaust. Desbois has identified 2,000 mass graves and 800 extermination sites. To preserve the memory of atrocities that occurred in Eastern Europe, Desbois has recorded startling interviews with 2,500 elderly eyewitnesses. He will show excerpts of his filmed interviews during the presentation.
