Awards

The Department of German sponsors a series of annual awards in recognition of excellence and achievement in the study of German.

Awarded to a student for excellence and accomplishment in German studies (language, literature, or literature in translation).

A prize endowed by alumni, students, and faculty members in honor of Drs. Ernst Rose and G.C.L. Schuchard, former professor of German in Washington Square College. Awarded each year to the winner in a competition sponsored by the Department of German.
