Join the Marxism Working Group for a discussion of two essays of the 1960s–70s that opened radical new perspectives on the development of global capitalism: Andre Gunder Frank's "The Development of Underdevelopment" (1966) and Immanuel Wallerstein's "The Rise and Future Demise of the World Capitalist System" (1974). Examining the deeply unequal ties of trade, investment, and extraction that have historically structured the modern world economy, these landmark texts continue to be widely read and debated today.
